He’s the Last Person Living Here || Bobovica

The village of Bobovica is located between the mountains of Visočica and Bjelašnica, representing one of the last authentic ways of life in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Just like Lukomir, this village is a true open-air museum, a place where time seems to have stopped.

When I visited in mid-October, only one resident was still living here. He told me that even the last shepherds had already left and that he’s waiting for the first snow, when he too will move down to the valley. Winters here are harsh, and the village often becomes buried under heavy snow, making life nearly impossible.

This is a story about one of the most remote villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina, about silence, solitude, and a way of life slowly disappearing in the mountains.
