Spur winged Lapwing

The beautiful Spur-winged Lapwing has become one of the most common breeding birds in Cyprus. It prefers open areas with water, such as lakes, dams and salt lakes but it can be also found in open fields. A very characteristic bird with an intense call especially when the nest or chicks are threatened. This individual ignored my presence and came too close to drink water. Enjoy..
