Since its launch in 2021, the aim of the ARRIVE Together program has been to change how authorities respond to mental health emergencies by pairing specially trained personnel with police officers arriving on the scene. The program is now in operation in Newark. The expansion to Newark is the latest step in a push to expand the program into all 21 New Jersey counties.
