Loreto Island, Lake Iseo: a mysterious meeting place of fishermen, merchants and pilgrims The island of Loreto rises in Lake Iseo, north of Montisola, and is privately owned (Pesenti Family - Italcementi). At the end of the fifteenth century the island was purchased by the Sisters of S. Chiara of Brescia, who installed a convent there.
