Tiger Woods Arrested on DUI Charge After Florida Rollover Crash

Tiger Woods was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence on Friday after his Land Rover rolled over on a two-lane road near his Jupiter Island home in Florida, the Martin County Sheriff's Office said.

Woods, 50, was found to have shown signs of impairment and refused to submit to a urine test at the jail, and a breathalyzer test returned no trace of alcohol, with investigators believing the impairment was drug or medication-related.

No injuries were reported.

Woods was charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test, all misdemeanor charges. Under Florida law, he must remain in jail for at least eight hours before being released on bond.

This was the second time Woods had faced DUI charges, having been arrested in 2017 in Jupiter, Florida, and later pleading guilty to reckless driving.

Woods has been involved in a car crash at least three times, most recently in February 2021 when his SUV ran off a coastal road in Los Angeles at a high rate of speed, leading to multiple leg and ankle injuries. Woods said later doctors considered amputation.

President Donald Trump, who is a close friend of Woods, said on Friday that he feels bad about the incident.

"I feel so badly. He's got some difficulty. There was an accident, and that's all I know. Very close friend of mine. He's an amazing person. Amazing man. But, some difficulty," he told reporters in Miami, Florida.
