Sign Up
Click “Sign up” on the upper right corner. In the pop-up, enter your channel name (this can be revised later) and email. Click next to set your password.
After setting a password, check your email for a five digit verification code. Please check your spam folder if the code doesn't appear in your main inbox. Click resend if you didn't receive the code.
Enter your verification code, and click sign up to complete the process.
Customize Your Channel
After signing up, navigate to the upper right corner, (where your avatar is) click it, and select “My Channel”
Click the camera icon to select an image to upload as your avatar/banner, banners are not required. You can also change your channel name by clicking the pencil icon.
Click “Save” when done.
Navigating Creator Studio
Click on your avatar on the upper right corner and select “Creator Studio”, the place where you can edit and manage everything about your channel. We’ll walk you through the tabs you see on the left hand side here, so read on!
Content
This is where you’ll be uploading your contents, there are three options: Video, Shorts, and Article. To use live stream & premieres, you'll need to upgrade to GJW Premium.
Video Upload
Click “Add New” depicted in the picture above, in the pop-up window, click “Select File” to choose a video from your computer. Supporting file types are: avi, mov, mp4, mpeg, mkv.
After selecting a video, it’ll be uploaded to our platform, and in this pop-up, is where you can fill out everything about your video. Please note that title, language, and category are required fields.
If you wish to capture a scene from your uploaded video to use as a thumbnail, please click the play button on your video and in the bottom left corner, click the “Capture” button to capture images. You can always pause the video and then capture if it’s too fast.
To replace the video, simply click the “Replace Video” button to select another from your computer. And for those who want to share your video right this instant, click on the video link below the “Replace Video” button to copy the link and share it to your friends.
When all done, click “Next”
In the next step, you can choose to add subtitles to your video by uploading a file from your computer, you can also manually type in a translation for your title & description. If you do not wish to do so, click “Next” and continue on to the last step.
If you wish to add subtitles, please click the “Add Language” Button, and in the new pop-up, select a language, then upload or manually type in your translation/subtitles. Click “Done” to save your changes.
Once you’re back on this page, click next.
Last step, choose your audience and publish time, toggle the schedule button to set a time if you wish to do so.
Public: Anyone can watch your video
Private: Only you and the people you choose can watch your video
Unlisted: Anyone with the video link can watch your video
Click “Done” to publish your video.
After your video is published, you can see and edit it in your Creator Studio. To make the same change on multiple videos all at once, use the select multiple feature at the right side of the video. You can select all videos on this page by clicking the checkbox next to “Video List”.
Shorts Upload
Click “Add New”, and in the pop-up select “Select Short”
Please note that the maximum length is 60 seconds and the height of the video must be taller than its width.
Different from videos, all information relevant to your short is on one page, please read and fill out each field carefully before hitting the “Publish” button.
The thumbnail is an image captured at the very beginning of your short by default, on desktop it cannot be modified, but if you use our mobile app, you can choose your own thumbnail.
After publishing, you can see and edit it in your Creator Studio.
Writing an Article
Click “Add New” to create a new article. The are inside the big red box is where you can write your article.
To save your article as a draft, click on the “Save Draft” button on the upper right corner. But before you can save a draft, the following fields must be filled out: Title, thumbnail, language, and category.
To schedule publish your article, scroll all the way to the bottom on the settings (right hand side)
Click on “Preview” to see how your article would look before publishing.
Top Bar Tools
Aside from the familiar texts adjustment tools, we also have other tools like image upload and video embed.
To insert an image, click on the “image icon” and select a file from your computer, or you can directly drag an image into the text box. Once your image has been uploaded, the following adjustments are available (from left to right):
- Alternative text
- Add captions to image
- Inline
- Image Alignments
- Resize Image
To add a paragraph before the image, click on the enter button on top, to add a paragraph after, click the enter button on the bottom
To adjust the position of your image, simply drag it to where you want it to be.
Embed Video
Click on the video icon and enter your video url, it must either be from Gan Jing World, Shen Yun Zuo Pin, or Youtube. Click the checkmark when done.
Your embed should look similar to the image below:
To adjust position of the video, click and drag to desired spot.
Insert Table
Click on the “Table icon” to insert a table. Once inserted, there are three menus available for adjusting your table.
Embed HTML
Click on the HTML icon and in the text box, paste your HTML snippet, when done, click on checkmark.
The HTML above is from this Facebook post, so upon clicking the checkmark, it'll show the corresponding content. To edit, click on the pencil icon on the upper right corner.
Article Preview Page
To see a preview of your article before publishing, click on the preview button on the upper right corner. This preview is only visible to you.
Video Playlists
Notice the second option in Creator Studio, this is where you can create playlists for your own videos.
Click “Add New” to create a new playlist. You choose who can see your playlist, and the title is a required field. When done, click “Create Playlist.”
Permissions
In the “Permissions” tab, you can invite others to become a manager/viewer for your channel via email. Just enter their email address, select a role, and the invitation will be sent to the invitee's email. Once the invitee accepts the invitation, their name will appear in the section on the center of the page, like the image below.
