Recently, the background of Ji Guangguang, one of the suspects in the Yu Menglong case, was exposed, revealing that he carries the bloodlines of three major families. Some people exclaimed that it was no wonder he could hide so deeply. According to netizens, he is the great-grandson of Li Peng, the great-grandson of Ye Ting, and the great-grandson of Gu Mu — a man of multiple identities belonging to the so-called ‘Zhao family’ — the CCP’s ruling elite clans.
The site of the Yu Menglong case — Room 601, Building 18, Sunshine Upper East Residence — belongs to Ji Guangguang (whose real name is Li Ming). Previously, netizens revealed that Yu Menglong had been tortured to death by Li, the son of a Political and Legal Affairs Commission secretary. Skin tissue DNA found between Yu’s fingers is suspected to belong to this person, raising speculation that he was in fact Li Ming.
Li Ming’s mother is Ye Dandan (also known as Li Ye). Ye Dandan’s father, Li Xiaoyong, was the second son of former Premier Li Peng. In 1998, Li Xiaoyong was implicated in a massive financial fraud case involving 500 million RMB Yuan. Several people were sentenced to death or life imprisonment, while Li Xiaoyong escaped punishment by relying on his Hong Kong residency and obtaining investment immigration status in Singapore.
Ye Dandan’s mother, Ye Xiaoyan, is the granddaughter of former CCP leader Ye Ting and the daughter of Ye Zhengming, who once served as a science and technology advisor in the General Armaments Department of the Chinese military.
Commentator Li Muyang bluntly stated: “Ji Guangguang (Li Ming)’s background is extremely prominent. He is a pureblood member of the Zhao family, which is why he could conceal himself so well.”

He said that on the day Yu Menglong died, someone revealed that two world-class luxury watches were found on his body — one of them a Rolex “Green Submariner.” The owner of those watches was Ji Guangguang.
Li Muyang pointed out that this should have been very important physical evidence, but later it was deliberately forgotten, either consciously or unconsciously. He speculated that the CCP might have deliberately erased these two pieces of evidence in order to cover up Ji Guangguang’s identity.
Netizens expose deep ties and demand justice for Yu Menglong
Earlier, netizens had discovered that a company registered under Yu Menglong’s name was involved in selling firearms. Ji Guangguang’s ancestors also had a criminal record of trafficking and smuggling arms. Li Muyang speculated that Ji Guangguang likely continued this family tradition.
He concluded that after learning about Ji Guangguang’s background, it seems unlikely that the truth about Yu Menglong’s case will ever be revealed. He emphasized that although different factions within the CCP leadership often fight bitterly among themselves, when facing a common enemy — the ordinary people — they protect each other and present a united front.
Li Muyang stated that although the chances are slim, people must still make every effort to fight for justice and keep digging deeper. “If nothing is done, then there won’t even be a glimmer of hope, and that would be even more tragic,” he said.
Netizens commented: “A group of demons is ruling this country, it’s terrifying!” “As long as the powerful elite remain untouchable, the people will never be well. This system itself is producing generation after generation of red hegemony.” “No matter how deep the family wealth, when evil karma accumulates, by the third generation it will bring down the weight of heavenly punishment. When the thunder strikes, no family can escape it!”
Others wrote: “Thank you, Li Muyang, for persistently speaking up for Yu Menglong. He was so kind and innocent. Everyone must not give up, we must continue to speak out for Menglong and dig out the murderers!” “Thanks for the revelations. I pray that those who harmed Yu Menglong will all be punished as they deserve.” “Thanks to everyone speaking out for Yu Menglong, because any one of us could be the next Yu Menglong.”
One netizen noted: “The Yu Menglong case is now beginning to break into the international arena. Before, it was very discouraging because only the BBC’s Chinese edition had reported on it. But now it has not only appeared on the front page of Foreign Policy but also in The Star. These two are major mainstream English-language media outlets.”
Tracing the red elite: Ji Guangguang’s powerful lineage and public suspicion
On October 3, X user Gavinly also posted, pointing out that Ji Guangguang is the great-grandson of Li Peng, the great-grandson of Ye Ting, and the great-grandson of Gu Mu — a pureblood Zhao family member with multiple identities. He wrote: “So this is the real mastermind, right? Yu Menglong died in his house, with his watches in Yu’s pocket. His mother is Ye Ting’s granddaughter, his father is Li Peng’s son. He had everything handed to him on a silver platter. — no wonder he acts with such arrogance. The evidence chain everyone has been demanding is fully closed around him.”
The post by this blogger reached 280,000 views. Netizens remarked: “Ji Guangguang has never once spoken from beginning to end, and he was photographed inside the residential compound. Clearly his background is not simple! A deep sigh — perhaps the dawn will never come!”
Another user added: “The Li Peng family’s ancestral home is in Sichuan Province. Cheng Qingsong and Fang Li are also from Sichuan Province. Red elite families like to use fellow townsmen as gloves and enforcers. Cheng Qingsong has been thriving in the entertainment industry, which may well be connected to the Li Peng family.” One commenter cursed: “There isn’t a single good person in the Li Peng family!”
X blogger “News Investigation” also pointed out: “It turns out that Ji Guangguang’s father, Li Peng’s son Li Xiaoyong, had a criminal record early on and fled to Singapore. He was once known as one of the ‘Four Princelings of Beijing’. No wonder Ji Guangguang considers himself a Beijing princeling and acts with impunity.” He further noted: “Ji Guangguang’s uncle is Ye Daying, who once invested in the film Red Lovers starring Leslie Cheung. Now, many netizens even suspect that Leslie Cheung’s death was connected to this group of people.”
