Gan Jing World CEO Dr. Sherry Yin welcomed the audience with remarks highlighting the film’s alignment with the company’s mission. “Mina demonstrates resilience and independence. She not only stands strong on her own but also leads her friends in facing challenges—and even when helping others, she puts their needs before her own. That spirit sets a wonderful example for children,” said Dr. Yin.

Dr. Yin also introduced Gan Jing Kids, Gan Jing World's new children’s platform, emphasizing its triple-layered safety model and safe, fun programming curated around six Expert-Approved Educational Values, including cognitive development, language and storytelling, STEM learning, and more.

We chose Mina as Gan Jing World’s first exclusive original film release in North America because it conveys uplifting values. We hope this film inspires children and families in meaningful ways—especially in today’s online environment, which is often flooded with unhealthy content,” added Dr. Yin.

Voices from the Premiere Event

Performer and storyteller James White speaks with media following the U.S. premiere of Mina at Middletown Cinema, August 30, 2025.

Families, creators, influencers, and media joined together for a festive afternoon celebrating courage, kindness, and family values.

The music supports the story beautifully, creating a light, uplifting feeling. Music is essential—it pulls at your heartstrings and makes you laugh or cry,” said Award-Winning Documentary Narrator and Singer-Songwriter James H. White.

Mina revives the bright, heartwarming stories of our childhood, like Snow White. It is a clean, positive platform for families, free from violence or inappropriate content,” said media host Guangyu Jiang.

Mina is wise, brave, and independent—not waiting for a prince. This inspires kids, and I will incorporate these themes into our music,” said Cici, creator of the DoReMi Kids Songs channel, who attended the premiere with her family in costume.

Gan Jing World is a safe platform for families, offering pure, traditional values in a world filled with inappropriate content,” added media professional Kean Wong, Cici’s husband.

Parents and children also shared their enthusiasm. “It was funny, and the kids were laughing out loud. It teaches bravery and wisdom—standing up for what you believe in,” said Hadas, a mother of two. Twelve-year-old Fiona added: “The horse was so funny—it reminded me of my siblings. I learned you should solve problems with wisdom, not force.

A Modern Fairy Tale

In this modern twist on a classic fairy tale, a headstrong princess is stolen by an evil sorcerer, and her scholarly fiancé must use his wits in an epic quest to find her—while she boldly challenges her captors and plots a daring escape.

Directed by Alex Tsitsilin (The Snow Queen series) and written by Analisa LaBianco (Beverly Hills Chihuahua) and Jeffery Spencer (Secret Magic Control Agency), Mina flips classic tropes with its “Rebel Princess,” a heroine who refuses to wait for rescue. With a cast including Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld, Dan Edwards, and Vanessa Johansson, and a score by Sefi Carmel, the film has already been praised as “a modern fairy tale for a new generation.”

Where to Watch

Mina is now showing in select theaters across the U.S. and Canada. Starting September 12, 2025, the film will also stream exclusively on Gan Jing Kids, with subscription and buy/rent options, at https://www.ganjingworld.com/s/K6QKkB6gEz.
