How to Access Linksys RE6300 Setup Page and Configure Your Extender?

RE6300 Linksys extender is a network booster to the router. it connects and provides speed boost to your router in every corner of the house.

Here, in this guide you will get to learn about how to set the RE6300 extender up with your router via extender.linksys.com. So, let’s start this Linksys RE6300 setup guide.

Linksys RE6300 Setup via extender.linksys.com

On your phone or laptop, check available Wi-Fi networks. You’re looking for something like: Linksys Extender Setup – XXX
⦁    That “XXX” could be random letters/numbers. Doesn’t matter. Just connect to it. No password required at this point. It’s an open network.
⦁    If your device screams about “no internet connection,” that’s expected. Ignore it. Now go to: extender.linksys.com. If that doesn’t load? Try the IP address directly: http://192.168.1.1
⦁    Still nothing? Close your browser, reopen, and try again. Or use a different device. Sometimes your phone gets stubborn.
⦁    If all goes well, you’ll hit the Linksys extender setup RE6300 page. Click Start Setup. Now it’ll scan for available WiFi networks. Give it a sec.
⦁    Pick your main WiFi from the list. You’ll need to enter your WiFi password here. And yeah, it’s case sensitive. If you mess it up, it’ll throw a vague error and make you start over. Ask me how I know.
⦁    After it connects, it’ll ask what you want to call the extended network. You can use the same name as your main WiFi, or add “_EXT” to the end.
Click Next or Finish, whatever it says. It’ll apply the settings and reboot. Takes a minute or two.

Other Linksys Extender Setup Methods

Via WPS
Every router is different. Some have a physical WPS button. Some bury it in software settings (which is dumb). But if your router has a physical WPS button, press and hold it for like 2-3 seconds. Don’t just tap it. Wait till you see some kind of flashing light action.

Now, within about 2 minutes of hitting WPS on the router, press the WPS button on the side of the extender. Hold it for a second. You should see the LED start to blink.

Now wait. Don’t unplug it. Don’t press anything else. Just chill. It takes about a minute or two. If it works, the light turns solid green or maybe solid amber (depending on how good the signal is). If it keeps blinking forever and goes back to orange, nope — try again. It happens.

Grab your phone or laptop and look for a new network. It'll be something like YourNetworkName_EXT. That’s the extended network. Connect to it. If you can browse the web, congrats, you're golden.

Via Linksys App

Get the app from the App Store or Play Store. Open it up, log into your Linksys cloud account or make one if you haven’t. Yeah, it’s annoying. Just do it.
⦁    Tap the little “+” to add a device. Pick “Range Extender.” You have to make sure your extender is plugged in and powered on.
⦁    Connect your phone to the extender’s temporary Wi-Fi. It’ll be something Linksys Extender Setup RE6300 — open your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and connect to that network. No password needed. Just do it.
⦁    Once you're connected, flip back to the app. It should detect the extender automatically. If it doesn’t, kill the app, re-open it, and try again. (Yes, really. This fixes it half the time.)
⦁    Now it’s going to show a list of nearby networks. Pick your main Wi-Fi network — the one from your router and enter the password.
⦁    If you want to keep the same SSID (network name) for the extender as your new rouer or use a new one. You can do it the same so my devices just auto-connect, but you can split them if you want to get fancy.
⦁    Hit next. Wait. Wait a bit more. It’ll look like it’s doing nothing, but eventually it’ll say “Success” or something close. If it fails, double-check your Wi-Fi password. That’s usually the culprit. Or just try again. Seriously — it sometimes takes a few stabs.

App will ask you to check placement. If the signal’s weak, move the extender a little closer to the router. If it's good, leave it. Green light = good. Amber = meh. Red = move it. You get the idea.
