POUGHKEEPSIE – Members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit (NRU) on Tuesday took a five-time felon off the streets of the city. At approximately 9:04 p.m. on the 600 block of Main Street, NRU members saw 55-year-old Andre Hendrix, who police knew was wanted by parole.
Hendrix, convicted on felony charges five times in the past, was charged last week with additional felonies following a narcotics investigation. The detectives approached the felon and took him into custody without incident.
He was processed at the police station and transported to the Dutchess County Jail to await the arrival of parole officers.
