LOS ANGELES (NEWSnet/AP) — “Shogun” led Emmy nominations Wednesday, and “The Bear” went on a tear with a comedy-series record 23.
“Shogun” nominations include best drama series, best actress in a drama series for Anna Sawai and best actor for Hiroyuki Sanada.
Nominations for the “The Bear” best comedy series, best actor in a comedy series for Jeremy Allen White and best actress for Ayo Edebiri.

It also received several guest-acting nominations, including Jamie Lee Curtis and Olivia Colman.
“True Detective: Night Country” led limited/anthology series nominations, with 19, including a best actress nomination for Jodie Foster.
“Baby Reindeer” received 11 nominations, including best actor for star and creator Richard Gadd. “Ripley” got 13, including acting nods for Andrew Scott and Dakota Fanning.
Four-time Emmy-winner Tony Shalhoub has a shot at his fifth trophy, for reprising his role as Adrian Monk in “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie.”
The Emmy Awards show is set for Sept. 15 at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. It will air on ABC.
