How to Choose Good Feng Shui Bedroom Colors

Creating a harmonious and balanced living space is an essential aspect of the ancient practice of Feng Shui. When it comes to your bedroom, the colors you choose play a crucial role in influencing the energy and ambiance of the space. In this guide, we will delve into the art of selecting good Feng Shui bedroom colors, helping you create a sanctuary that promotes relaxation, rejuvenation, and positive energy flow. By understanding the principles of color psychology and Feng Shui, you'll gain insights into how different hues can impact your well-being and create a harmonious environment for restful sleep. So, let's embark on this journey of color and energy as we explore how to choose the perfect Feng Shui bedroom colors for your sanctuary.

1. How to Choose Your Best Feng Shui Bedroom Colors

Here are some guidelines for choosing the best feng shui colors, even though there is no ideal color for a bedroom (or any room, for that matter).

2. What Colors Do You Love?

Take note of the color that appeals to you first. What colors do you love? Attention to your intuition is crucial because we have unique associations with particular colors based on our culture and prior experiences. Frequently, we are drawn to the hues that will best serve our needs.

3. What Is Your Intention?

Tip:

  1. As you select the colors to add, consider the surrounding area and other people.
  2. Consider what complements the rest of your house and the furnishings you already have in your bedroom.
  3. Make sure your partner is okay if you share a bedroom.

Green, Teal, and Blue for Wellness and Vitality

The colors blue, green, and teal work well in bedrooms. In feng shui, the wood element, which stands for expansion, vitality, and new beginnings, resonated with them. These hues can be very calming because we frequently encounter them in the sky, plants, ocean, and other natural settings. Pale blue and green tones are incredibly calming and restful.

Purple for Prosperity

Cooling, calming blue and blazing, passionate red make up purple. It is, therefore, very harmonious, which is helpful in a bedroom. In the feng shui bagua map, purple is also associated with the Xun (Wealth) area, symbolizing prosperity, financial abundance, and self-worth. Try adding calming lavender hues to your bedroom to create more equilibrium or make you feel more deserving.

Pink and Peach to Attract a Partner

Pink is a soft, feminine color that nurtures. It is linked to the feng shui Bague's Kun, or Relationships, section. Kun is not only about relationships and love but also about openness. Pink is a fantastic color to use if you want to learn to receive better, soften your current relationship, or open the door to a new relationship.

Colors that help you find a partner include peach, in particular. One word of caution, though: If you don't want to attract more partners, you should probably change the colors in your bedroom after you've drawn your partner—or at the very least, change your intention for those colors.

White for Simplicity

Home interiors frequently feature white, especially on the walls. When chosen intentionally, White can be a beautiful color, though we don't recommend using it just because it's the default option. White is the color of innocence, simplicity, and new beginnings. The best way to use white is in combination with other softer colors because it can be harsh when used in large quantities. If white is a color you adore, off-whites and ivories can be a more delicate and calming way to incorporate it. Ivory bed linens will be an excellent alternative to white if you prefer something a little less stark.

Earthy Yellow, Brown, and Orange for Balance

In feng shui, the earth element, which is related to grounding, stability, and nourishment, is represented by the colors yellow, brown, and orange. They are, therefore, excellent choices for a bedroom, particularly if you feel disoriented. Consider using a soft yellow for a calming, upbeat touch or terra cotta for a stable, nurturing atmosphere.

Dark Blue and Navy for Spirituality

The Gen area of the Bagua, also known as the Knowledge area, is associated with the colors dark blue and navy. Deep blue is calming and meditative—think of the night sky or a deep pool of water. Dark blue can be a great addition if you want to relax or practice self-cultivation in your bedroom.

Gray for Support

Gray is associated with the Qian area of the bagua in feng shui, which is linked to helping others and traveling. It has a balancing and tranquilizing effect because it combines black (yin) and white (yang). It can go well with various other colors and is incredibly adaptable as a neutral. To support the goals of the various colors, you can also combine gray with another color in your bedroom.

Black for Wisdom

Black is the most yin, has the most depth, and is associated with the water element. You might want to use some black in this space since your bedroom is also a very yin space. But using too much black in a room's decor is typically not a good idea. Consider using black as an accent instead of painting your bedroom walls, such as in a picture frame or throw pillow. Alternatively, you might try putting a piece of black tourmaline under each corner of your mattress to help build a defense grid and neutralize negative energy.
