Tarzan Of The Apes (1918)

Tarzan first swung from the trees in Tarzan of the Apes (1918) with the brawny Elmo Lincoln in the title role. With various Louisiana locations serving as a jungle backdrop, director Scott Sidney told the traditional tale of how the orphaned heir to the Greystoke fortune became lord of the jungle. The movie also stars Enid Markey as Porter's beautiful daughter, Jane, the woman Tarzan loves.
