1300 Years of Prayers-The Rebirth of the East Pagoda-

Nara's World Heritage site, Yakushiji Temple, is home to Japan's National Treasure, the East Pagoda – the only building remaining from the ancient capital, built in 730 AD, and often called "frozen music" because of its graceful appearance. Yet, due to severe deterioration and the potential threat of earthquakes, its complete dismantling and restoration became necessary for the first time.
