Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday that the U.S. decision to allow purchases of Russian oil currently stranded at sea will help stabilize global energy markets. According to Associated Press Peskov told reporters that the world was facing a growing energy crisis, noting that “it’s impossible to stabilize the market without significant volumes of the Russian oil.” Separately, Peskov said that the date and venue for the next round of trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States haven’t yet been set. He reaffirmed praise for U.S. efforts to help mediate a settlement.
