Massive fire continues to rage in oil storage tankers in Oman’s largest Salalah port that came under Iranian drone attacks today.  Visuals released online capture massive flames in the oil facilities in the port. The terminal suspended operations after Iranian drone attacks today. Located on the Arabian Sea, the Port of Salalah had played a crucial role to transport oil bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, which has been effectively closed to vessels from Israel, the United States, Europe and their allies. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, IRGC, announced its closure after joint US and Israeli airstrikes in late February. Iran has been striking military and energy facilities in the Middle East in retaliation to the US-Israeli strikes on its territory. Earlier, Omani authorities declared neutrality and stated they were not acting against Iran. Before the attack, Tehran announced the start of a campaign to destroy facilities involving the US and Israel’s capital.
