The Tone Is Set

First of all, thank you so much for all the incredibly sweet responses to my last blog post! Luckily, I recovered very quickly. A lot has happened again this past week.

I'll start with the most important news: I've been at a new school for a week now! I was really nervous, but I'm already so happy that I made the switch. I've met lots of new classmates, and they're all incredibly kind to me. They even stand up for me, and that's something I've never experienced before. I've also already been invited to a few birthday parties. That hadn't happened to me in years. How cool is that!?

My teacher is really great too. So you'll definitely hear more about that in my upcoming blog posts...

I also had the opportunity to be on the jury for the reading competition at my old school. Last year I took part in the competition and won. If you win, you get to be on the jury the following year. It was a really fun evening! And luckily, my favorite contestant won!

One thing I still find very difficult is accepting myself the way I am: smaller than average and carrying a backpack with two feeding pumps. Fortunately, I can escape into music. My weekly violin and singing lessons, along with choir rehearsal, help me forget my worries for a while, and I can really lose myself in the music.

Something else that was very special is that this past week my violin maker gave me a "brand-new old" violin. My previous violin just didn't produce such a beautiful sound anymore. It was like playing on a cigar box. 😉

Now it's finally vacation time, so I can just relax and do absolutely nothing for a while.

In my next blog post, I'll tell you all about what I did during the holidays.
