The Little Lotus Seed's Journey of Elevation

In my family's car, there is a beautiful little lotus ornament with the three words "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" written on it. The lotus is the flower that cultivators love most. Lotuses come in light pink, pink, pale pink, and white. They are truly beautiful!

A lotus has a seed pod, leaves, a stem, and roots (lotus root). At school, our teacher showed us a video called The Story of the Little Lotus Seed. In the story, a tiny lotus seed fell into the muddy bottom of a pond. It did not give up or drift along with the mud. Instead, it worked hard to stay pure and kept growing upward. At last, it reached the sunlit surface of the water and returned to its original home. Cultivators are the same. We came down from Heaven, and we should work hard to cultivate ourselves and return.

Although I have never seen a lotus in real life, I can imagine myself standing beside a lake. A gentle fragrance drifts through the air, and the lotus flowers dance gracefully in the breeze. The green lotus leaves rise and fall like waves.

Everyone knows that within the Three Realms there are no heavenly lotuses—only lotus flowers (water lotuses). When a heavenly lotus enters the Three Realms, it becomes a lotus flower, just as a divine being becomes a human after coming into this world.

As a student at Little Lotus Academy, I am like a little lotus seed. I want to grow out of the mud and rise back to the beautiful lake above. I hope to transcend the Three Realms and return to my heavenly home.
