LUNENBURG — From quiet personal milestones to bold, life-changing journeys, adventure takes many forms — and each begins with the courage to begin.
Join author, professor and adventurer James Nehring for an engaging program that explores how people of all ages and abilities can experience the thrill and personal empowerment that comes from meeting a challenge head-on.
“What’s Your Next Adventure? A Celebration of Journeys Great and Small” will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, at the Lunenburg Public Library, 1023 Massachusetts Ave.
Nehring will share stories and insights from his own adventures, including cross-country cycling, coastal rowing and long-distance trekking.
He will also present photos and dramatic excerpts from his new book, “Everest and the Rest of Us: Four Journeys in Search of Adventure.”
Nehring is the author of several books on education and human flourishing, and his recent work explores how people of all ages can find purpose, growth and adventure beyond the classroom.
This interactive program invites attendees to reflect on their own journeys, with opportunities to share personal stories or dream up future adventures.
“I enjoy connecting with people who love adventure,” Nehring said. “Most of us, including me, will never climb Mt. Everest or anything like it. But that doesn’t make our own home-grown adventures any less exciting or meaningful.”
