Mechanism of Action

Water vapor naturally migrates from areas of higher temperature to lower temperature. Hypak™ employs a specialized air barrier membrane on the warmer side of the thermal insulation and a waterproof, breathable vapour barrier layer on the colder side. This design integrates the function of a vapour barrier and breather membrane, ensuring balanced moisture management inside the building envelope. This configuration prevents water vapor from penetrating the insulation and allows any infiltrated moisture to disperse. By simultaneously dispersing and blocking water vapor, Hypak™, as a high-performance breathable membrane house wrap, prevents accumulation within the envelope, keeps insulation dry reduces cold bridge formation, minimizes freezing and expansion damage, enhances heat retention, and reduces energy consumption.
