The Turkish Art of Coffee

Coffee, Kahve, Kahwa.  Linguistic terms to describe the richness of such a beverage vary. But the essence and quality of it are identical. The art of coffee intake is not a secret to be hidden away from the naked eye. It’s a quantum leap of consciousness that takes one into a journey of reliving the past while being in the present.

Turkish coffee is a delicate form of beverage that is rich with hidden history of a twisted mystery. Unlike other beverages we consume on daily bases, Turkish coffee is art. The way its made is artistic enough to be displayed in the museums, and the richness of the taste is a ritual in itself.

Served in small mug, and accompanied by soft Turkish delight, the unique experience is a journey of going back into history and a having a share of this beverage with the ones’s who created this ritual. This short documentary is a classic journey of filling the gaps of what and how such a beverage became a major factor of cultural identity. Multiple stories and generational connections have been covered, all to showcase the different scenes of the powerful essence of connection that Turkish coffee has.
