An Iranian drone struck the United States Consulate compound in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday, triggering an explosion that sent smoke billowing into the air and prompted nearby residents to flee.

Video circulating on social media captured the moment the drone approached with a loud humming sound before impacting the building. One widely shared clip shows the drone slamming into the structure, followed by a large explosion and flames rising from the scene. Another video shows thick smoke pouring from the area as a bystander urges people to “leave from there” and move away from the blast site.

A post on X from BRICS News described the incident as the “US Embassy on fire in Dubai, UAE following Iranian drone attack,” alongside footage of the aftermath.

According to CNN, no injuries were reported despite the explosion.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed the strike, stating, “The drone struck a parking lot adjacent to the chancellery building and set off a fire in that place. All personnel are accounted for. We began drawing down personnel from our diplomatic facilities in advance of this.”

The strike comes amid escalating hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran following the launch of Operation Epic Fury and subsequent retaliatory actions across the region.

U.S. officials have not yet released details regarding the type of drone used or whether additional diplomatic facilities are at risk. Emirati authorities have also not publicly disclosed further damage assessments.

The incident marks one of the most direct attacks on a U.S. diplomatic facility in the Gulf since the conflict intensified earlier this week.
