Trump Declares ‘Justice Served’ as Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei Reportedly Killed in Israeli Strike

President Donald Trump has confirmed reports that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed during an Israeli airstrike on his compound in Tehran, describing the development as a historic turning point for both the Iranian people and global security.

In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump did not mince words, calling Khamenei “one of the most evil people in History.”

He framed the moment as what he described as the “single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country” after decades under the rule of the Islamic Republic.

Khamenei, 86, had led Iran since 1989, serving as the highest authority in the nation’s political and religious structure.

As Supreme Leader, he wielded ultimate control over the military, judiciary, and key government institutions, shaping Iran’s domestic policies and foreign strategy for more than three decades.

“Khamenei… is dead,” Trump wrote. “This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty thugs.”

The president further stated that the operation was made possible through advanced intelligence coordination and close cooperation with Israel. According to Trump, sophisticated tracking systems ensured that Khamenei and other senior leaders targeted in the strike were unable to evade the operation.

“He was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do,” Trump said.

The announcement followed Trump’s earlier national address confirming that joint U.S.-Israeli military strikes had begun overnight. In that address, he declared that American forces had launched “major combat operations in Iran” aimed at eliminating what he described as imminent threats posed by the Iranian regime. He argued that those threats directly endangered U.S. troops, overseas military bases, and American allies around the world.

According to the president, the strikes were specifically designed to dismantle Iran’s missile stockpiles and “obliterate” its missile production infrastructure.

A central objective, he emphasized, was preventing Iran from deploying nuclear-tipped long-range missiles that could potentially reach the American mainland or allied nations in Europe.

In response to the strikes, Iranian forces reportedly launched retaliatory attacks against Israeli targets, raising fears of further escalation across the region.

Trump also claimed that his administration had received intelligence suggesting that elements within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with other military and security personnel, were reconsidering their loyalty to the regime. According to him, some members were seeking immunity and signaling reluctance to continue fighting.

“Hopefully, the IRGC and Police will peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots, and work together as a unit to bring back the Country to the Greatness it deserves,” Trump stated, expressing optimism about a possible internal shift in power.

He added that the events unfolding — including Khamenei’s reported death — could mark the beginning of sweeping change within Iran. While describing the country as having been severely damaged in a single day of military action, Trump suggested that the upheaval could open the door to a new political era.

The developments represent one of the most dramatic escalations in U.S.–Iran tensions in decades. As global leaders monitor the fallout and regional powers assess their next moves, the death of Iran’s long-serving Supreme Leader could reshape the political landscape of the Middle East in profound and unpredictable ways.
