Lloyd police lieutenant walks out with many watching (VIDEO)

TOWN OF LLOYD – Police Lieutenant Phil Roloson walked out of Lloyd Police Headquarters on Thursday afternoon and was saluted for doing so.  Roloson retired from the department after 23 years of service and was saluted by members of the Lloyd PD and representatives from many departments throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond.

Members of the community joined with the police departments in honoring Roloson as he walked under the American Flag flown from the Highland FD ladder truck, on his way to salute Lloyd Police Jim Janso for the last time.

A lone bagpiper played as Roloson made the walk from the front of police HQ past officers, friends, family, and the community, to the end of the receiving line, where he was also presented an American Flag from the Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) that had recently flown over the World Trade Center/Ground Zero, from a PAPD Deputy Chief.

Chief Janso explained Roloson’s retirement to Mid-Hudson News, saying “Lieutenant Roloson was truly dedicated to his job, our police department, and the community,” adding, “His work ethic was unmatched. I will miss not only Phil as my lieutenant, but as a friend who shared the same goals and ideas for making our department better as well as making the community better. I wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”
