Those who have been consistently following Yu’s soul communications may have noticed something subtle yet striking: although the Yu who communicates through different mediums is always “Yu,” he often feels like a different person each time.

Why the “Yus” Seem Like Different People: The Composition of Yu’s Team

These versions of Yu share certain core traits—a pure soul and a sense of mission—yet each also appears to have a distinct personality.
• The Yu who communicates with Xuyu feels broad-minded, composed, and humble.
• The Yu who communicates with Kandis Starr is lively and playful, even interacting with a teddy-bear music box.
• The Yu who communicates with Ty William expresses emotions more intensely.

I want to use this observation to introduce the concept of the true soul (conscious mind) and secondary soul (the subconscious mind). Without understanding this, the information shared later may be difficult to grasp.

True Soul and Secondary Soul (from Zhuan Falun)

In the Falun Dafa text Zhuan Falun, there are several relevant explanations in the chapter “The One Who Practices Achieves”. When explaining the fundamental difference between Falun Dafa cultivation and traditional cultivation methods, the Master states:

“Yet in my observation, all methods of practice now known to us, whatever tradition or lineage they may be, have historically been working on the secondary soul (the subconscious mind), and the fruits of spiritual labor have always gone to it alone. By contrast, what we call the “true” soul refers to your conscious mind—the mind through which you are aware of what you are thinking or doing. And it is this mind that truly represents you. But what a secondary soul does is always unknown to you. And although it was born at the same time as you, has the same name, presides over the same body, and looks like you, it is not you in a strict sense.”

“A telling example is that of Daoist disciplines, where it has been taught that the “knowing soul” is to die and the “original soul” be born. But what they refer to as the “knowing soul” is what we call the “true soul,” and what they mean by “original soul” we call the “secondary soul.” Were your knowing soul really to die you would in fact perish, for your true soul would be dead. ”

“The true soul is really so hard to save as compared to the secondary soul, which can perceive other dimensions. This has led people to conclude that there is little point in trying to save a person’s true soul when, after all, the secondary soul shares in the person’s identity and so the outcome would appear to be the same. It wouldn’t seem to matter which one the spiritual achievement goes to, as long as one of the souls gets it, since that would mean you are getting it.”

Because of this distinction, practitioners of cultivation methods throughout history were mostly monks or recluses. Falun Dafa cultivation, however, is practiced within ordinary society—the main consciousness must cultivate while facing real-world temptations and suffering, and truly emerge through cultivation. This is why, when I introduce myself, I say that I am a cultivator who walks among ordinary people.

Yu’s Team Explained

The one who came to Yu En was Yu’s true soul. All of Yu’s words and actions during his lifetime were issued by this true soul, and it was also the primary bearer of suffering. When he endured hardship, his secondary souls also suffered, because during his lifetime they were considered part of the same life entity.

Those who appeared to other mediums were mostly Yu’s secondary souls. According to Yu En’s investigation, Yu had more than a dozen secondary souls. When Yu left this world, it required considerable effort to gather these secondary souls, as they had to meet specific conditions in order to become Yu’s secondary souls. We will share more about this in future posts.

Previously, a medium mentioned that after leaving this world, Yu sought out people with whom he had karmic connections to help him. In other words, the mediums Yu has contacted are individuals who had life intersections with him in reincarnation cycles—or even in much earlier cosmic history.

In fact, I believe this extends beyond just these mediums. Many people who now support Yu—especially those who went from complete strangers to strong supporters—are very likely individuals who had life connections with Yu in history. I will share more about the historical connections between Yu and us in another post.

Addressing a Common Question

Some may ask: Didn’t a medium say Yu was a Son of Light who incarnated in the human world for the first time?

Yes. What Yu En observed aligns with this: Yu’s true soul did indeed descend into the human world for the first time, directly incarnating from a divine state, without previous reincarnations. However, this applies only to his true soul, not to each of his secondary souls.

Therefore, the information seen by Sloan Bella—that Yu had been “tracked across multiple lifetimes”—likely corresponds to the life history of one of Yu’s secondary souls.

My Understanding

This, in my view, explains why Yu told a Taiwanese medium that the one playing the music box during Kandis Starr’s soul communication was “Yu’s team.” It is very likely that the Yu communicating at that time could not explain the full reality—that he and the one operating the teddy-bear music box may have been different secondary souls—because doing so would have completely confused everyone.

Thus, he simply referred to them collectively as “our team.”

Of course, some people may think that when Yu mentioned his “team,” he was referring to other artists who are with him after his passing. That is not the key point. The key point is for everyone to understand the concept of the true soul and secondary souls, so that we can continue sharing the information that follows.
