WEST NYACK- Veolia, a global company that provides water, wastewater, and environmental services, says it is prepared to maintain safe and reliable water service as a winter storm is expected to bring snow and ice to New York this weekend. The company serves more than 550,000 customers across the state.
Veolia has activated its cold weather and storm response protocols and is closely monitoring forecasted conditions. Officials said crews and resources are on standby to respond to any service disruptions caused by freezing temperatures or severe weather.
“Our teams prepare year-round for winter weather,” said Chris Graziano, president of Veolia’s New York operations. “With snow and ice in the forecast, we have crews and resources ready to respond quickly and safely to any service impacts.”
Ahead of the storm, Veolia has placed field crews and operations staff on heightened readiness, prepared treatment plants and pump stations for freezing conditions, ensured backup power and fuel supplies are available, and coordinated with local and state emergency officials.
In the event of heavy snowfall, customers are asked to help keep fire hydrants clear so they can be accessed quickly if needed. Veolia also encouraged residents to review their personal emergency plans and make sure they have essential supplies such as flashlights, batteries, and food.
