This Isn’t Justice — It’s Political Protection

I’m going to say what a lot of Minnesotans are thinking but the political class is terrified to touch.

What happened in the Don Lemon case doesn’t pass the smell test.

When I learned that a Minnesota magistrate judge refused to allow charges to proceed against Don Lemon, I was already concerned. But when reports surfaced that this same magistrate judge is married to an Assistant Attorney General working in Democrat AG Keith Ellison’s office, my concern turned into outright outrage.

That’s not justice. That’s a conflict of interest staring us all in the face.

Judges are supposed to avoid even the appearance of bias. That standard exists for a reason. When family ties connect a judge directly to the very office responsible for prosecutions in politically sensitive cases, recusal shouldn’t be optional — it should be automatic.

Instead, what we got was silence. No transparency. No explanation. No accountability.

And let’s be honest — this isn’t an isolated incident in Minnesota. We’ve watched for years as the law is enforced aggressively against some people, while others—activists, media figures, and political allies—get special treatment. The message is clear: if you’re connected to the right people, the rules suddenly change.

I don’t care who you are. Fame doesn’t place you above the law. Political alignment doesn’t grant immunity. And marriage to someone inside the Attorney General’s office shouldn’t insulate a case from scrutiny.

If this were an average Minnesotan, there would be charges. There would be arrests. There would be court dates.

But when it’s someone like Don Lemon? Suddenly the system slows down, looks the other way, and pretends conflicts don’t exist.

That’s corruption — or at the very least, the appearance of it. And either one destroys public trust.

If there’s nothing to hide, then show the public the records. Explain why no recusal occurred. Explain how this decision was made and who was involved. Transparency fixes doubt. Silence fuels suspicion.

I’m not calling for special treatment.
I’m calling for equal treatment.

If the law was broken, arrest Don Lemon.
If it wasn’t, prove it — openly and honestly.

Minnesotans deserve a justice system that works for everyone, not just political insiders. And until that happens, I’m not going to stop asking questions — because accountability doesn’t come from staying quiet.

And neither does justice.
