According to Ancient Egyptian religion and mythology, the God Shu is one the oldest deities. Shu is the god of the air and supporter of the sky. In the beginning Atum created Shu and Tefnut. Shu and Tefnut created Nut and Geb. Shu separated Nut from Geb.
This ancient Hymn is found in the Magical Papyrus (Harris, No. 501), which is preserved in the British Museum. The text is written in the hieratic character.
