FITCHBURG — While details about the incident are still unclear, police are searching for the driver of a vehicle they say was involved in a hit and run accident on Saturday.
At about 1:15 p.m. on Nov. 25, a hit and run accident on Summer Street was reported and police are searching for the vehicle that fled the scene, according to a statement on Fitchburg Police Department’s Facebook page.
Police also released the photo of the vehicle, which was some shade of red, in order to seek assistance from the public.
“The Fitchburg Police Department is looking to identify the owner or operator of the pictured vehicle,” said a short statement released late Sunday morning on the Department’s Facebook page.
Police confirmed they are looking for the red vehicle but were not able to provide any additional details as of deadline, including whether the incident involved injuries or significant property damage.
A Google image search of the photo released by police identified the vehicle as a Honda CRV.
