MIDDLETOWN, NY (Sept. 20, 2023) – Gan Jing World announced results of the 2023 #MealtimeTogether Video Awards, an event celebrating the power of mealtime to bring people together. The first place prize goes to GJW channel “My Kitchen” for their submission VLOG Outing and Eating, a picturesque day of a picnic by the water as two friends celebrate their very own Dragon Boat Festival. The video shows scenes of preparing bean cake, chia seed pudding, pickles, and braised edamame. The two girls lay out their blanket with their spread of delicious food to watch black swans drift across the water.
The second place prize goes to GJW channel “A Little Journey to the City” for their video entitled Camping, a kind gathering of friends at a campsite for celebration of a birthday. The video shows the close friends pitching their tents, cutting wood for a fire, and setting a table for their mealtime festivities. With moments of each day’s mealtime, each friend lends a hand in the preparations, building a magnificent feast to gather around.
An Honorable Mention goes to GJW channel “Buenas Costumbres” for their submission What Wonderful Days, a beautiful sharing of a family in Buenos Aires, Argentina gathering at the table for their Uncle’s birthday. The video shows the family’s journey out of the bustling city to the countryside, where glimpses into their clay-oven cooked meals and handmade foods reveal this family’s beautiful tradition of togetherness at the table.

The 2023 #MealtimeTogether Video Awards began on July 10th and ran through August 31st. Contestants were encouraged to share moments of mealtime gatherings with their friends and family to celebrate the power of mealtime to bring people together. Entries were judged by a panel of esteemed artists, visual designers and film directors based on creativity, video quality, and popularity.
The #MealtimeTogether video event is one of several planned events aimed at rekindling the value of family and community, encouraging acts of kindness and sparking meaningful conversations.
With the #MealtimeTogether awards concluded, the Gan Jing World community looks ahead to the #KindnessIsCool Video Awards, a global video contest with $25,000 in total cash prizes, inviting people and organizations to share acts of kindness within their families, schools, and communities and be part of the new kindness is cool trend.
