Rolex Unveils Watches and Wonders Novelties for 2024

Contrasting materials, an interplay of colors and textures, and novel designs lend a fresh spin to the iconic Rolex watches in the brand’s new Watches and Wonders lineup for 2024.

Highlighting the balance of function and form while treading the line between tradition and innovation, Rolex’s newest timepieces are a testament to the uncompromising technical expertise and artistry of the brand’s in-house watchmaking masters.

For 2024, six classic models have been reinvented with new looks, creative variations, and sophisticated details.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II—a version of the 1955 original, released as a testament to the wonders of aviation and cosmopolitan world travel—now shows a Cerachrom bezel insert in grey and black ceramic that alludes to the cycles of day and night. The watch comes with either an Oyster or a Jubilee bracelet, with the black lacquer dial inscribed with ‘GMT-Master II’ in a shade of green that repeats on the 24-hour hand.

The Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 also comes out with two new looks—a yellow gold with a white lacquer dial, and an Everose gold with a dial in an intense blue-green hue, accented with 60 trapeze-cut diamonds. Deconstructed Roman numerals and faceted hour markers add a novel edge to both models.

A Rolex icon, the Perpetual 1908, emerges in an elegant 950 platinum option, set with an exclusive ice blue dial reserved solely for platinum Rolex watches. Adorned with a rice-grain motif, the guilloché dial reflects light with every wrist movement. Crafted using guillochage—a technique that uses a turning tool to carve a geometric pattern—the dial’s rosette-like design adds unique character and is complemented by the guilloché crimped pattern around the minute track.

The first deep-sea divers’ watch crafted in yellow gold, the Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea brings together gold with ceramic and RLX titanium in a never-before-seen combination. The compression ring, made from blue ceramic with a circular satin finish, is a technical marvel integrated into the Ringlock system, ensuring the watch’s resilience under extreme pressure. The helium escape valve and case back in RLX titanium further enhance the watch’s durability during decompression, making it ready to conquer the ocean’s abyss.

The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona is also introduced in two new models, both in white gold, showing contrasting white and black mother-of-pearl dials with diamond-set bezels. Both watches feature a bezel adorned with 36 brilliant-cut diamonds and are paired with matching bracelets: an Oysterflex bracelet for the black counter version and an Oyster bracelet for the white.

Last but not least is the distinguished Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller—a technical watch designed to assist travellers with rapid orientation. The elegant model is now available with a Jubilee bracelet in Everose or yellow gold. The bracelet alternates smaller, polished links with larger, satin-finished ones for harmonious contrast. Ceramic inserts within the links enhance durability and wrist flexibility. A slate dial for the Everose gold version and a bright white dial for the yellow gold complete the refined timepiece.

The new Watches and Wonders models are available at select Rolex retailers, including Royal de Versailles Jewellers in Toronto—ranked as the city’s most favoured authorized Rolex dealer.
