We are constantly faced with making decisions about our lives that involve good and evil. Our choice of good or evil affects others and ourselves. In such moments, how do we sustain the goodness in our hearts?
In our troubled world, through the recording and dissemination of benevolent acts, we can still spread love and kindness to people around us. This compassionate action will become a beacon of light that brightens our world. This special light is not only an encouragement but it is also an inspiration that rekindles people’s passion for life.
Gan Jing World initiates the first essay contest “Good Deeds In Troubled Times”. We cordially invite you to write articles about benevolence using the power of your words. Through your submitted essay, a multitude of readers will be inspired; as such, compassion may reverberate throughout the world.
Your award-winning essay may have a chance to be made into a big-screen movie by a well-known director! Such meaningful and wonderful things are happening in Gan Jing World!

Directions for submission:
After creating a channel on Gan Jing World, use the “articles” column to upload your entry of 500 words minimum. Add the topic tag “#GoodDeedsInTroubledTimes” to the title and content. After submission, you have completed your entry for the contest. There is no limit to the number of articles you can submit.

Submission format:
The title of your manuscript must be “#GoodDeedsInTroubledTimes | name of your manuscript as registered”. Please indicate the author’s name in the article.

[Agreement by the Contestant]
If a contestant registers for the first "Good Deeds In Troubled Times" Essay Contest (hereinafter referred to as the "Essay Contest") hosted by Gan Jing World (hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer"), the contestant has fully understood and voluntarily accepted the relevant requirements of the Essay Contest, while making the following commitments:
- By participating in the event and submitting your work, you, as a contestant, have read and agreed to abide by the Official Rules, Terms of Use and Monetization Policies. Your information will be processed in accordance with the Gan Jing World Privacy Policy.
- You, as a contestant, guarantee that you have full, complete and exclusive intellectual property rights for your entries and will not infringe any other person's patent, copyright, trademark or any other legal rights; at the same time, the entries will not violate any laws and regulations. If the above-mentioned infringement or illegal behavior occurs, once verified, the Organizer will cancel your qualifications and scores.
- You, as a contestant, guarantee that your entries are original and have not been published anywhere globally. That is to say, the entries were exclusively published in the first "Good Deeds In Troubled Times" Essay Contest hosted by the Organizer and have not been published or posted in any form anywhere globally by itself or by any other third party. Furthermore, the same work is not allowed to be entered repeatedly or submitted to multiple events.
- You, as a contestant, guarantee that your entries do not violate any laws and regulations, and do not infringe the rights of any third party, including but not limited to plagiarism and other behaviors that may infringe the rights of other copyright owners. Otherwise, once verified, the Contest Organizing Committee has the right to cancel your qualifications and scores.
- Participation in this Essay Contest is voluntary. You, as a contestant, agree and give authorization to the Organizer that all the work you submitted may be used for the promotion of the Essay Contest free of charge during the competition period.
- Winners must proactively contact the Organizer via email at [email protected] to claim their prize within one month after the official website announcement of the list of winners. If the winner cannot be contacted after usual channels, Gan Jing World reserves the right to select the next best entry. If any prize winner is determined to be ineligible, the prize will be awarded to the next eligible entrant in that category.
- You, as a contestant, must strictly abide by the rules of this Essay Contest. If any legal dispute arises due to defects in the rights of the entries or the content of the entries is false, illegal, improper, or for any other illogical reasons, the contestant shall bear the legal consequences.
- The Organizer is not responsible for any delay, loss, error, illegibility or damage to the information sent or logged in by the participants due to personal technical issues such as computers, networks or other reasons that are not attributable to the Organizer. Participants shall not hold objections or seek accountability.
- The Organizer reserves the right to terminate or change the event rules, event time, awards, review of award qualifications and other event-related activities at any time.
- You acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by the Official Rules (Base Term). See OFFICIAL RULES for additional contest information, terms and conditions. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between these requirements and the Official Rules, the terms and conditions of these requirements shall prevail.
