In Alaska, Susannah and Jesse Stanton divorced two years ago. They have a young son named Sam and two daughters, teenage Bridget and younger Hannah. Jesse resides on a remote ranch where he hosts guests for fishing and tracking, relying on his plane to travel to Anchorage, where Susannah runs a restaurant. Their separation was due to Susannah feeling bored and lonely on the ranch. Susannah is now dating a lawyer, and their children decide to find a partner for Jesse by sending a letter to a popular magazine called 'Alaskan Love.' Jesse receives many responses, but the children eventually believe that Susannah might be his perfect match and devise a plan to reunite them.
