My Life in China

In America, each family has an immigration story, with someone leaving their homeland for a better life. How did they maintain their identity and adapt to a new life? Every family has a unique story. For me, it's my Chinese-American story. My father often recounted his journey of walking for 7 days and 6 nights, then swimming for 4 hours to Macau to escape communism in 1966. His story didn't resonate with me until I went back to China with him.
